How was voting where you are?
L got there at 6:20 (polls in MD don't open till 7) and was out by
7:20. She said that the people at the beginning of the line got there
at 5:40.
I got there with the boys at 7:10. The plan was for
L to take them home once she voted, but I had bought them girl
scout cookies from the girls selling cookies to ppl in line and they
were happy to wait. Plus, they wanted to vote and get a sticker. So, she waited again with us. It took exactly one hour. Each kid pushed a button on the computer and got their sticker. They were thrilled.
We
took the boys home, cleaned up the kitchen, talked with our nanny, and then
went to Panera for breakfast - just the 2 of us. I got to work an hour late and have no motivation to work...I just want to know the results.
Re: How was voting where you are?
wow - thats a long wait
but i might have done it for some girl scout cookies!
Our polling locations open at 6am so I was there at 6:15 and out by 6:40ish. Andrea's location was even quicker...she was in at 6, out by 6:15.
i've heard rumor of worse places though, and i'm sure it'll be bad today after work.

I haven't gone yet. Trav wanted to go together when we get home tonight. I'm not looking forward to it... I've heard some long line horror stories. I'm thinking we'll leave as soon as we get home, with a bottle of water and some granola bars just in case!
But I don't care how long I have to wait, I'm getting my vote heard!!

It wasn't too bad on our side of the beltway
. We got there shortly before the polls opened at 7, and were out by 8:30. We were going to be late to work anyway, so we stopped by Dunkin' Donuts for a bagel and coffee before heading to work.
I think it's neat that your boys wanted to be involved-- good for you for raising little future voters!!

i voted absentee about a month ago, and c sent hers in a couple of weeks ago.
i've heard it hasn't been too bad so far today, but the lines for early voting were crazy here. everyone i've talked to went really early, though. i'm not sure how it'll be later.
I had to leave for work before the polls opened, so I went when I got home between 3:30 and 4. I was in and out in 5 minutes!
