Need help, voting question

I probably should've figured this out before today, yet I hadn't really even thought about it.

Ok, so I'm registerd to vote as Casie (old last name) in my old voting city.  Now that I'm married and have moved to a different county what should I do about voting??  Like should I go vote in old city/old name, or do I need to go to my new city, new last name, etc??  You guys see what I mean??  I did change all my info w/the SS office, so I don't guess that Casie (old last name) would even show up under my SS number.  Help, where do I go/what do I do??

Re: Need help, voting question

  • Well, the first election I voted in after getting married I still had the same polling place, but since my DL had my married name on their, they just gave me a change of info form to fill out, then I went on my way.  I don't know about the fact you are in a new city but since I technically didn't change cities after I got married, I really don't know what to say.  Why don't you call the courthouse and ask someone??
    Siggy coming soon....
  • What address do you have on your driver's license right now?  If you haven't changed your license/address since you've gotten married, then your polling place *should* be whatever one matches up to your address.

    Try this website...

    http://govote.org/

That should give you either your polling place, or at least a number to call to find out where you should be going.

  • Unless you have sent in a change of name/address form to voter registration, then you are still registered in your old county. (Regardless of whether you changed your name with social security.)

I was registered under the same polling place on campus at UA even though I hadn't lived on campus in 8 years. I finally changed my voter registration info this year... two years after I got married.
