How about a cute apron for her to cut hair in. Sally's usually has some cute ones or if you have enough time to order one jessiesteele.com has some really cute ones. It's something small but cute and goes with her job.

  • What is she planning to get into after beauty school the most?

    A well rounded graduate... -

    Makeup Artistry

    Color

    etc

If makeup I suggest getting her some makeup brushes!  Can never have enough.  MAC is nice but pricey, good reviews for the price amazon.com search Shany Cosmetics and you should be able to find some decent brushes!

Maybe if she's going into color, this could be  cute, you could find her some stylish color brushes.. like zebra print, pink, etc.  Always fun to express yourself in your tools!

Depending on how much  you want to spend, you could check out ebay for some Shears.  They will usually have a pack, so like shears, thinning shears, etc which would be nice because they only provide you with so much.  They can run about $80 but would definitely be a nice gift.

Something like that.. but then again you say she's graduating this week, so shipping would be a factor.  Sallie sells some shears if you were interested in getting her some.

  • How about some type of nice canvas tote to carry her supplies from home to work.  Lands End and LLBean have some really nice ones that can be monogrammed.  They get rave reviews as well.
  • Will she have her own station? What about something to help her personalize her station. Love pp's idea of an apron. If all else fails, get her a gift card to a salon store where she can go and purchase things she needs once she gets settled into her new job

I like this idea.  My mother was a cosmetologist, and my sister is now... and they are both very particular about their shears.  I would say something to personalize her station (assuming she has one) or a GC somewhere.  I don't know if you can get one for Cosmoprof if you don't have a license, but Cosmoprof is where all of the stylists I know shop for supplies.

  • My sis is a stylist and when she graduated I went to the local prof-only store and bought her a gift card. You do not need to be a member to buy the cards, only the acutaly products. With the card (Maly's here, salon centric, or cosmoprof) she can get any supplies that she needs including products, capes, tools, etc.

  • The safest way is to get her gift cards to stores that sell tools she could probably use. That way she gets to choose according to her preferences. :)
