My HB and I just got the opportunity to hang out with some of our old friends from highschool (we are "HS sweethearts"). It was a lot of fun and it was great to see them! They have managed to keep in touch through all of the years, but we moved to a different city right after graduation from highschool. We are back in town now and would really like to get "back in the group".
I have had the idea of inviting everyone over to our home for a BBQ and some fun. He's really apprehensive about it- so what do you think? Good idea or bad?
If you vote good- any cute ideas for a 4th of july bbq? Im thinking old-school red white and blue! Thanks!
Re: BBQ Ideas!
Of course it's a great idea! Why would it not be? I might not do it for the 4th because I know many people who have longstanding plans to always go to X's house for it. Maybe feel out your group and if they're busy, do it for later in July.
This corn salad is fantastic and so is this pasta salad.

Thinking of doing cosmetic updates to a dated home? These were our costs.
If you want to reconnect with these people go for it! Is he apprehensive because of the people, the actual party, anything tangible?
I agree to feel out the fourth. It's not that far away and people do tend to have traditions.
If you're new to entertaining pick things you know how to make with one or two new things thrown in.
I should have been more specific- I plan to invite them over for a Fourth themed BBQ, I'll be at my family's for the holiday, so it'll probably be before or after.
I think it is a great idea! Love the BBQ theme, but agree that people might already have plans for the 4th of July. You could do an "End of Summer" BBQ. We just had a BBQ Rehearsal Dinner.
