LED Can Lights In Kitchen?

We are thinking about putting them in the kitchen.  I'm worried though - will it be enough light?  Will the light be too "white?"  Has anyone else put these in?  Any thoughts?

Re: LED Can Lights In Kitchen?

  • We just installed some LEDs outside... they're plenty bright.  I would look at the lumens level on the bulbs you would normally use and then compare that to the lumens level on the LEDs you are considering purchasing.  Try to get equitable lumens so you know it will be bright enough.  Other than the price, LEDs are a solid quality product, generally.

  • Even though I don't have them (yet) in my kitchen I know its some thing that is getting more and more common.
  • LED bulbs are very energy efficient and can be best alternative for CFL and other florescent bulbs. Just like CFL and other bulbs whose measurements are Watt, LED's unit is Lumen. More the Lumen your LED bulb has more it's light would be spread. One more advantage the LED bulbs have are their instant in action ability. Unlike the CFL who takes a little time to be fully spread its light, LED bulbs are always come in full action as long as power comes in. You must use Solar LED Lighting to power your home lighting because solar power system is best proved alternative electricity source which highly reduce the carbon emission.
  • I rarely post here, but I just installed the ecosmart LED 6" cans from home depot throughout my house. I love them! they put out so much light but are not that weird blinding white/blue light. I have them all on dimmers. couldn't be happier
