I am a nervous wreck

I am terrified about Prop 8. I actually feel like today my life with S is under attack. I know I can't do much about it anymore but.. ugh.

My stomach is in knots, I am antsy, AF is making me weepy and we are almost out of Halloween candy. I think it's going be a loooong day.

Re: I am a nervous wreck

  • I feel the same way about the election in general. I haven't done anything at work today...I just want to get home, get the kids to bed, and sit and watch the returns.

  • I know, I am too... I can't say that I feel exactly the same way because I'm not in a same sex relationship, but I hate knowing that someones right can be taken away today.... it sucks, but if it doesn't pass and they legalize gay marriage, I'm so doing the happy dance!

"Ditto" to all of this (except the kids part, of course... sigh).

  • It was a long day today for me.  The kids all are excited and there was a lot of conversation today.  I had a little palin fit (I know I shouldn't have) in one of my classes.  I explained to the kids about her stance on gay marriage and how this effects my life.  They were really great.  When I was explaining some of the rights that I don't have in non gay marriage states they were really shocked.  One kid said "they can't do that you are family."  I had to explain that in most states S and I are not considered related.  He responded well that is stupid she is your wife.

If it makes any of you feel better the polls are closed for 6-8 graders in Newton Ma and it was an overwhelming victory for Obama.

    Now I wait!

  • I feel nervous and anxious but I can't even imagine how CA residents must feel.  I am keeping my fingers crossed because the outcome of prop. 8 will effect so many people and would be such a set back in this progress forward!

I can't wait to vote, go home make a great dinner and sit in front of the TV all night drinking wine watching the numbers go up...We will be glued to CNN.

  • I am incredibly nervous. It didn't help on the way to work practically all the political posters I saw were yes on 8 signs. I think we will just be watching a movie tonight and wait until tomorrow for an official result. Watching the results come in little by little is like torture for me, almost like slowly peeling off a band-aid. I'd rather just rip it off lol, if that makes sense
