Inspection Stickers
Hi everyone!
Sorry I haven't really been around since my introduction post. I was mostly living in MA with my parents because my dad was very ill. Unfortunately and very sadly he passed away in mid-May. I have been slowly spending more time here in Maine, and hope to post more often!
Anyway, enough with the excuses. I'm wondering if any of you know a reputable place to get a car inspected here? We live on the West Kennebunk line, but would be willing to go anywhere from Kittery to Portland. I keep reading reviews for places that seem like the fail your car just to get the repair costs.

Well, first of all, I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your father. What a whirlwind these past few months must have been.
There are still some posters on here, but most of us have moved over to a Facebook group, so you may have better luck with more replies over there. I think you just search over there for Maine Nesties and request to be added...it's a private group, so an admin will have to approve your request.
As for inspections, there are probably people with closer recommendations, but we use Woodford Street Garage in Portland for our car inspections, issues, etc. We were so worried about having to choose a car place when we moved because we were spoiled with my father being an ex-repairman back home. Anyway, Woodford was recommended to us by AAA...the rep we spoke to said they are supposed to recommend their own shop, but that all the employees go to this place. For everything except oil changes, we have found them to be priced fairly and the employees/owners are really nice and have made us feel comfortable.

For a mechanic we have been going to mike and Wayne at kennebunk auto center on rt 1 in kennebunk, by sun loft tanning and Hancock lumber, since I was a baby. (over 20 years). They are awesome! My mom said they used to pick her up all over town when her car died.
