What do you have? Pros/cons? Thanks!!
Re: Recommend your washer/dryer, please
We have a Samsung front-load washer. We got it last fall and I love it. It's nothing fancy, but it fits a lot and gets things clean. It also does a little jingle when it's done! It has the settings that I need, including delicates/handwash. It also has extra rinse, extra spin.
I guess the only con for me would be that it doesn't have a separate delicates and handwash, although I'm not sure that it really matters. That was just something at the beginning that I didn't like.
We just got ours when we moved into the house in December. I did a ton of research and ultimately ended up getting something fairly simple and inexpensive. We have a traditional GE set. I found that many of the new top-load washers don't have an agitator (the tall thing in the middle that moves the clothes around), and many of the reviews I read complained that the models with no agitator just don't get clothes as clean.
I have no complaints with ours. They both have the settings I need, and the dryer works very quickly.

The reviews on the washer on that page are mixed- but I can honestly say I haven't had any of the issues mentioned. My clothes get very clean! The only issue I have had is occasionally a hoodie or something with a drawstring will get wrapped around the agitator, but it's not hard to unwrap it and it hasn't been a big deal. I think as long as you don't try to over-fill it, it works just fine.
I have a Samsung as well and am happy with it. I do find that it could have a few more options to choose from for washing but in general it does a good job.
If I had to do it again though and buy one now that we have some more $$ to spend I'd buy a Bosch.
ETA: they are front loading. ~ also if you buy front loading be smart and buy the stands that go underneath! I didn't and kicked myself for not doing it when I was pregnant because it's a long ways to bend down. Now I had my dad make me a wooden stand that both my washer and dryer stand on.. of course after the fact
