A girl that B grew up with happened to be in the OR with Mackenzie and came out to see us when she recognized the name. She is in a cast so the procedure must have worked. We are still waiting for her to wake up and them to call us in to be able to see her.
***update:
We are in the car on our way home. There was no need to keep her overnight, which is great! She is in the full spica frOm chest to ankles. She was really crying when they let us back there. I tried to nurse her but it was taking awhile for my milk to let down and then she kept biting me (which she never does). So thankfully I'd brought a couple bottles of pumped milk so we fed her a bottle. I had a bit of a breakdown then because she was so upset and hard to hold, etc.
It was a huge $hit show after that trying to get someone to come explain things to us but eeventually we got it all sorted out. We had to have someone from the plaster room come show us how to tape up and care for the cast. Then occupational therapy to tell us how to care for her, diaper her, and help us figure out a carseat situation to get her home. We have quite the rigged system which does not seem overly safe, but it's better then no car seat.
B and I are exhausted, but she seems to be doing really well and is quite happy now. Thanks again for the continued T&Ps
Re: Update *to the update*
Glad that procedure worked. Hopefully this will solve all of her problems.

Wonderful news! Its very comforting to see a familiar face and know your baby is in good hands, isn't it?!
Enjoy going back to see her... she will probably be groggy for a little while, but will enjoy the snuggles. Good job mama!

This. I have to admit I was curious about how that would work with a car seat. I'm so glad that the procedure worked, I'll be keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers.
Sorry I didn't get a chance to post on this.
Mom sorry that it was an ordeal getting ppl to explain things to you! I hope she has a fast and easy recovery and that you don't have to do this aging.
