Re: Im new to The Nest

  • Hello

I am Jen. I am fairly new to TN as I just got married in Jan.  I am 25.  I am unsure on how to really meet people.  I have lived her 1 yr so far and I haven't met a ton of people. I know there was an intro a few posts down and she was asking the same thing. :)

    Welcome!

  • Welcome Chelsea! Congrats on your marriage. I hope you had a wonderful wedding. You'll have to post some pics. It's been a while for me but I always enjoy looking at pics!

  • If there are any sort of events posted, check them out. I made the best friends of my life by checking out a cooking club and other gtgs. I highly recommend. There is usually a cookie exchange around Christmas that is a lot of fun and a good way to meet people.

  • congrats and welcome!  Hopefully we will start to see some cooking club or book club events or HH posted soon.  We've had a couple of break-offs in the past, one recently, with two groups leaving, one due to the nest's recent "improvement" efforts, so the board has been a bit slow lately but keep your eyes open.

  • Welcome and congrats on the wedding!  Like Robin said, when the girls here have get togethers (gtg) it is a great way to meet some wonderful local ladies.  I have met a couple of amazing women who I love to hang out with through attending cooking club, book club, and other Nest events.  It can be a little intimidating at first because a lot of the ladies already know each other, but that is just proof that they are great friends to make. Everyone is really nice.

I also found that just being out and about in the neighborhood and being friendly was a good way to meet our neighbors.  I am a teacher so I have crazy hours all school year, but once summer comes I love getting out for walks or just sitting on the porch because that is when I feel most connected to the neighborhood.

  • Thanks I'll have to keep an eye out for Nest gtg!! That sounds so fun... I also sell Pampered Chef so if anyone wanted to have a Nest gtg and host a party that would be fun! Thanks again

  • Welcome and congrats on your nuptials!
