In an effort to post something :)
What would you bring to a finger food only retirement party at work? I asked about pasta salad, etc, but was told no forks.
People are already bringing:
Dips: rotel, salsa, spinach
Fruit & veggie trays
Meatballs
Chicken wings
Deviled eggs
Big sheet cake from the deli
Re: In an effort to post something :)
You could do stuffed mushrooms, shrimp, finger sandwiches, snack mix, chocolate covered strawberries, your favorite cupcakes, fruit pizza, veggie pizza, etc...
Now if you'll excuse me while I go to the kitchen..
Anything on a skewer-
caprese salad,
skewer a tortellini/tomato/cheese/black olive/artichoke heart in any combination and marinate in italian dressing
tortilla wraps (I cut into 6-8 pieces)-
I've seen anything from a simple cream cheese and salsa
I prefer an herb cream cheese+smoked turkey+shredded mozz+spinach
horseradish sauce+roast beef+blue cheese+arugala
whatever combo you can dream up
I've been doing puffs lately too. I've made big and small and fill with anything from puddings or ice cream to chicken or seafood salad.
Or maybe just a cheese plate with summer sausage?
Another vote for caprese skewers (I use toothpicks), or tortilla wrap pinwheels.
Hi! I would do Cucumber Cups filled with Smoked Salmon Mousse and Dill - display with Lemons. Martha Stewart's Original Appetizer book had these... I checked it out of the library but don't have the recipe. Let me look online for you...
Or Cucumber "Tea Sandwiches" with Smoked Salmon - and Cream Cheese of course.
Can you tell what I have on the brain?
GL!
For the filling - I'd do this but sub Dill for the Cilantro:

This is what they should look like (I don't like this recipe because it has egg in it):

Also... other suggestions: Pita Chips with Hummus or Marinated Olives.

I love making individual baked brie tarts with store bought phyllo cups. So easy and they have always been well received.
Just pop some brie into the phyllo cups with some apricot or raspberry jam and bake them according to the directions on the cups. Yummy, easy and perfect finger food.
Anything on a crustini works well. I also like gougeres. Very easy and yummy, but best when served warm.
