My dad does a lot of product testing and I do it every once in awhile. Anyway, he called me today to tell me he's testing cereal next week and they need people my age so I should call.
I told the woman on the phone my husband and I would be able to do it and so she started taking my information. After I responded to each question she'd repeat it to herself (I'm guessing she was writing it down or typing it).
Her: "Do you have any kids?"
Me: "No"
Her to herself "Not yet..."
... Ummm, why are you assuming we're going to have children?! (I mean, we hopefully will one day but she doesn't even know me). It just made me side-eye the situation.

Makes me INSANE when people say this. I stopped saying no, now I say, I have two: my boy is five, my girl is two, they are furry and walk on four legs. Then they shut up. I also can not stand when women who have kids say, Wait til you have kids and see! I'm sorry, but your negative attitude isn't changing my mind any on wanting children right now, and please do not act like my problems and stress aren't as important as yours because I do not have children. UGH my rant was random too but I feel ya on this! 110%!!!

She will feel stupid she ever said anything. (you don't have to be. Just the fact that people can say stuff like this and no one ever retaliates is something all together different. People need to watch what they say.)

Jade - Every now and then I like to get snarky with strangers, but seeing as how I may (or may not) have to meet/see this woman on Wednesday when I go to the food tasting, I didn't want to say anything.
