Annapolis

DH and I are heading there for the day tomorrow. We haven't been in ages-any recs on things to do/see? We don't want anything super touristy but we don't want to be wandering around aimless all day either Smile Also, any recs on good places to park or good seafood restaurants are appreciated too! TIA!

Re: Annapolis

  • Eastport-a-rockin is tomorrow starting at 11 so it might affect your parking and drive in. I would try to get here before that. It's an event right across the Eastport bridge with bands, food, alcohol, etc...

There is a new cupcake and ice cream place on Main Street called Jojo's and it's really, really, really good. I'm not a big seafood eater so I can't really comment on that. McGarvey's has a pretty good crab cake though. Federal House is pretty good also.  You could also take one of the boat cruises or go to one of the historic houses like the Paca house or just wander around the Naval Academy.

  • Parking is going to be a ***, but Annapolis offers a free trolley. I would recommend parking at Park Place (on the corner of West Street and Taylor Avenue) and taking the trolley downtown (or walking, it's less than 1.5 miles, I've walked it before).

My favorite place to eat is Boatyard Bar and Grill. Pusser's the only restaurant legitimately on the water (attached to the Marriot), but I have not liked any of their food.

I think walking around the state capitol is cool, a lot of good history.
