Waiting is the worst part

Well since I posted about being nervous to make an offer on Thursday, we have felt a lot better about it and actually were able to make a bigger down payment, which really made us feel better. So we put an offer in yesterday afternoon and gave a deadline of noon today.

It's 10 AM and we haven't heard anything. Is this normal? I absolutely HATE waiting for anything and am a very impatient person. The waiting is absolutely killing me. Now we know 100% we are ready and comfortable to buy this house and are so excited, but I'm nervous about the offer getting accepted. We would even be fine with a counteroffer and negotiating, but it worries me that we haven't heard anything. They still have two hours left, but is it normal for the seller to wait right up to the deadline to make a decision?

  • It can be normal.  I hope you got good news!

  • Thanks! They came back with a really good counter-offer. We're now just trying to negotiate for the big TV downstairs :) But we'd be OK with or without it, so hopefully everything goes smoothly and we get the house!

  • I agree that waiting is the worst part. Congratulations on getting a counter (and probably a contract!) on the first one you made an offer on!! I wasn't this lucky, and the offer fell through on our first one. I still think about that house, and how perfect it would have been for us.
