Basement remodel

Our basement has wood paneling on two of the 4 walls and the space at the bottom of the stairs, the other 2 walls are orange.

We were thinking of painting the walls and the paneling a light brownish tan color. Any suggestions about the paneling? We considered ripping it down and hanging drywall but we don't know exactly what's behind it, if anything.

The picture is from before we moved in, you can see the DIY shelves are even orange.

Re: Basement remodel

  • Getting rid of the wood panels is a good idea. Even though your concerned whats under the panels I would still go ahead with it. I redid my basement and discovered termites and some mold. We got rid of them so now we have a long lasting home.
