how much $ do you invest in decorative pilllows?
I recently spent ~$200 at pier 1 for 6 pillows for our livingroom and another ~$75 for pillows for a guest bed.
Then today I spent about $100 for pillows to compliment our bedroom set.
That is nearly $400 total for decorations...and I still have one bed left! I feel like I'm going overboard...but they sure are pretty! Is this normal decorating behavior or should I quit while I'm ahead?
Re: how much $ do you invest in decorative pilllows?
Pillows are pretty much the easiest thing you could sew yourself, and so much cheaper.
I can't bring myself to buy $50 pillows. I've spent about $100 on pillows for my living room, but I'm just making the rest.

Thinking of doing cosmetic updates to a dated home? These were our costs.
It's hard for me to find pillow covers I like, so when I find them I buy them as long as it's within reason. The majority of our covers are from PB and while a little pricey they hold up and wash fantastic. Unfortunately, I wasn't loving PB's line this year so I found some fabric I liked and a great seamstress on CL that made me what I needed. This was a lot cheaper than PB.
As Tarheels said, it's a lot easier to store/clean covers than individual pillows so I go this route.
I quit buying decorative pillows long ago. They take up too much space when your not using them. And some of the money goes into the pillow insert which I just don't need. Cute covers are not easy to come buy without being plain so I have began making them myself which is super easy. I have found really great printed fabric but next I want to try embellishments and whatnot.
