Ideas/Suggestions for Spa Themed Bridal Shower?

Any help would be greatly appreciated! It will be outdoors in August, but nicely shaded. We will be serving cold vegetarian finger foods/appetizers and desserts. Also thinking about doing various flavored waters (homemade, not the store-bought sweetened crap), lemonade and iced tea. We are making bathsalts to give as favors.

What else would you suggest to keep with the theme? The other 2 people who are throwing the shower with me came up with the spa theme, but seem to have zero ideas on how to actually execute it.

TIA!

  • I just read about a baby shower that had people doing manis and pedis for the guests. Maybe something along those lines?

  • I love this idea! SO much.

I'd try and keep the decor/outdoor seating area as "fresh" as possible. You can decorate with some fresh flowers as centerpieces or accents, use white tablecloths and napkins, interspersed with aromatherapy candles (or just some white or pastel candles if you're worried about allergies or headaches or whatever). Play some soft music.

I like the idea of mani/pedis...is there a way you could set up a mani bar? You could also find someone or ask someone to give shoulder rubs throughout the shower. That might be too weird though. :-)

I love the idea of a spa party but I don't know how comfortable it would be to do it outdoors.  But since it will be nicely shaded maybe it'll be OK.  I would suggest using herbs such as rosemarry for decor and the scent won't be overpowering.   Either try and get someone to come out and do manis or at least have out some hand scrub and nail polishes or something.  I love 1 minute manicure from BBW and is a fun, quick & easy product to use.
I did a small, intimate spa party once and gave everyone heads up so they came prepared to wash off their makeup and we did face masks, a foot soak & DIY pedis and quick manis.  Not sure if you can pull that off outdoors.  Best of luck to you and hope it's a great party!
