I have some lagging RSVPs right now. It is a shared party between the 2 kids with friends from daycare. Thus far, I still have 8 outstanding RSVPs and need to turn in final headcount end of this week and order the party favors (books). Out of the 8, 3 are still awaiting "final" responses as they are hemming and hawing (another bday party, possible trip, etc. (which to me is just staving off the inevitable "no" but whatever)). I'm stalking some of the parents as I might see them at drop-off or pick-up and DH actually started calling out parents randomly at a bday party on Saturday also for daycare ("Anna's parents! You in?" -- yeah, he's subtle but he got me 3 extra RSVPs I didn't have).
As for most of these parents, I only have contact with them through the daycare folders (don't know emails or phone #s). Would it be too rude to leave a note saying something along the lines of "we hope X can make it to DD's/DS's birthday party on the [date]. As we have to turn in final numbers to [location], I'd love to hear from you by email or phone (insert info) so we can make sure X is counted in for the fun!" Does that seem reasonable? Quite frankly, additional no's are great for cost reasons but I don't want to count a kid out and then have him/her show at the last second. TIA!
