I FINNNNNALLLLY got called for the interview for the school I want to teach at (my old high school in my hometown). It took them forever to go through the whole protocol but I'm the only person they are interviewing (to my knowledge) and they basically created the position for me so I feel pretty good about it... but dont want to be too overly confident and totally mess it up, lol. I need to listen to some Spanish radio tomorrow, lol... kick on the language in my brain (it's a half History and half Spanish high school job).
Sooooo.... if they do offer this job, I'll also be MOVING this next month. I have 5 1/2 weeks left of summer so that means interview, find a place, pack, move, unpack and get settled in that time period... not to mention preparing to teach two brand new subjects and prepare the curriculum for that... oye. It's exciting but also a weeeee bit stressful. Alas, right after my interview, J and I are hopping in the car and heading to San Francisco to go see my mama! Suuuper excited!
Re: Interview!
That is really exciting! I know you will do great and you will enjoy the change in curriculum. How cool is it that you would be teaching at your old high school?!
Fingers crossed for a great interview!

I still have my job in LA... that being said, the only place there ARE openings is inner-city b/c older folks like me are looking to get out of inner-city. It's sooo much later in the year than in years past though.
Thankfully my Spanish credential is still in demand. If it weren't for that, I'd be teaching in South Central LA forever lol!
Whoops - posted under my old name! Yes, we interviewed several people who wanted OUT of LAUSD. I've done some smart board trainings out there, and I can definitely say I don't blame them. It's a mess.
