Salon Deep Conditioning

Has anyone ever done a deep conditioning treatment for your hair at a salon, specifically an Aveda salon?  My salon offers it as an add-on for a cut, but it's $25.  I want to know whether that is worth it or whether it's basically the same as my once-a-week deep conditioner that I use at home.  Thanks!

Re: Salon Deep Conditioning

  • Is there a beauty school near you? They generally do services for very cheap, so you could try it without spending a bunch of money. I have the Redken CAT treatment at home, so I just use that and then deep condition my hair and it's done great.

  • Yes, I've paid $25 at the salon and it usually feels great but as the PP stated most schools offer them for much cheaper. and you can buy a lot of that stuff on Amazon and do it yourself.

But I still pay the $$ if I'm lazy and my ends feel like they need some love. plus I'm trying to grow my hair.

  • I personally think it's the same, but like to get pampered every now and then, so I do sometimes pay extra for it. They usually do a scalp massage when you get it, so it's a nice extra that I can't do it at home.
  • I get the Kerastase deep conditioning treatments 4-5 times a year and they're totally worth it.
