Let's Try - Layer Cake converted to Sheet Cake

Does anybody know how I can convert this recipe to make a sheet cake?

Re: Let's Try - Layer Cake converted to Sheet Cake

  • I recently made a round cake into a 9 x 13 two layer cake.  I did a recipe and a half to make the 9 x 13 (which is a quarter sheet cake) from the round cake.

Are you making an actual sheet cake sized cake?  If so you'd probably need to make that recipe x6.  If you are making the half sheet cake you would triple the recipe.

  • I am planning to do a half sheet size so I will triple if I end up going with this recipe. Thanks!

Just wanted to post about this recipe.  It is amazing.  Every year I make my BFF some chocolate creation for her birthday. I chose this one for this year.  It was just delicious.  I would really encourage you to cut the coffee in the frosting by half though.
  • Thanks for the tip.  I have actually decided to go with Ina's birthday sheet cake for this party, but I did make the Beatty's chocolate cake for my other daughter's 3rd birthday this past February and it was awesome.  I got tons of compliments.  I didn't make Ina's frosting for it because we made it in to a pony using wilton icing :)

that frosting (with 1/2 recommended coffee) is worthy of great praise.  Best choc frosting I have ever made.  Good luck with your party!
