Debating on whether to advertise here or not...

Ok ladies, I know a bunch of people jumped ship awhile ago. I am currently debating on whether or not to advertise on these websites or not.

It's a 6 month commitment, and although I don't want to post the actual cost, let me just say I would need it to net 2-3 new customers per month to break even. I'm fairly new to advertising altogether, and I don't know if that's a realistic payback or not.

WWND??

Re: Debating on whether to advertise here or not...

  • I personally am not likely to click on an ad here on the nest and very rarely elsewhere on the interwebz for services. I tend to pay more attention to the localized publications (the ads that come in the mail for the area, or the local paper, etc.), but that's just me.

Also, I would be more likely to consider it maybe if I encountered a local business at a festival, on a local billboard, at a farmers market or via a local source (more local that "Colorado" like i.e west metro or City-specific.

    Just my thoughts.

    Agree with all of this.

  • I don't know what you do but more than 50% of the nest's population is gone.  The knot and bump are still pretty active but I agree with the others I'm not likely to click on things on the nest. I did look through the wedding vendors on the knot but went with recommendations instead.

  • Ladies -- Thank you SO much for your opinions!! As you can see, even I am not on here very much.

I don't think I've ever clicked on an ad on the nest, but I would be gearing my services towards more brides so I thought maybe it would payback. But just realizing how little traffic is coming here makes me realize that it's just not worth it.

    Thanks again!

  • I would think that if you're focusing mostly on brides it might be worth it to gauge how much Denver area traffic there is on the Knot. It sounds like there are a lot more ladies still posting on that side than here & they would be more likely to be using this site for vendors than most of us on the Nest.
