H has this issue where he scratches in his sleep I guess. I never notice he does it, nor does he, but next morning there's blood spots all over the sheets.
I seriously don't wash the sheets as much as I should but it's really because it takes ALL DAY.
I know, sounds crazy right? I soaked them in oxy for several hours while I did the rest of the laundry, and now the damn things won't dry. I wanted to get the bed made before he got home from work but it's looking like we'll be going to bed late.
Plus the oxy isn't even getting it all out. There's still faint red outlines everywhere.
Any tips would be much appreciated. Any better stain removers, or easier ways to do this (I know I usually do things the hard way).
The sheets are pure white, if that makes a difference.
TIA!
Re: Blood from bed sheets?
Sorry, that's all I got.
Warm or Hot water are best for getting blood out of fabric.
Get white sheets and use bleach. The bleach for color has never worked as well for me. Or you can buy red sheets to help hide any blood that wont come out.
Edit: Just reread post and saw they are white sheets. Use the Hot/ Hot cycle n the washer. You can also pre rinse what blood you can out of the sheets in the sink. So spot treat them. Hot water alone will get some of it out.

Thank you folks.
I will try your suggestions. I soaked them in the bathtub yesterday and they were so heavy trying to get them out and downstairs. Spot treating does sound much faster.
this.
this!
i am surprised at the number of hot water suggestions. use cold water to get blood stains out!

Peroxide, then wash in cold water. Hot water and/or the clothes dryer will set stains. If you're concerned, test a small spot on the bottom of the sheet (where it's tucked under the mattress) to make sure they're color fast. Sometimes even white fabrics will discolor with peroxide or bleach (they go yellow).
And seriously, get at least one more set of bed sheets. That way you can take the dirty sheets off and put fresh ones on right away, thus ending the "we can't go to bed until the sheets are dry" fiasco.

Blood like that on your sheets can be a sign of bedbugs. I would look into the crevices in your bedroom and see if you find any bugs.

I was going to say peroxide also. But, I've also read & used milk to soak out blood. The protein in the milk breaks down the protein in the blood.
Good luck!
Thank you for all the suggestions. I need to get some peroxide anyway because people are telling me its great for other things too.
As for the bedbugs thing, the marks are all on his side and I would think bedbugs would affect us both. I'll check into it though, just in case.
My spot remover that I just LOVE is "Totally Awesome". I bought it at the Dollar Store for $1. It is in a clear bottle with red lettering and the liquid is yellow.
I spilled red Kool-Aid in my three day old Coach purse, baby blue satin lining. I almost died, the purse was my 30thy birthday present. Anyhow, when I cleaned it up, I thought I got all of it, but the next day or so I was digging in the bottom and came out with sticky red Kool-Aid on my fingers. I sprayed "Totally Awesome" on it and wiped it with a dish cloth. Not a spot left!!! Looks as new as the day I got it.
I've used it on coffee spots, blood on a white rug, and grease splatter on shirts.
Good luck!
