*Amber*--tell us about your vacation!
Welcome back! How was your trip??
Re: *Amber*--tell us about your vacation!
Thank you both for asking! It was amazing. We had so much fun and it was really relaxing. The weather was gorgeous (it rained one afternoon and a few nights, but nothing that ever ruined any plans). I can't even explain how gorgeous the water is...I am a beach person and I could not get enough of the turquoise crystal clear water - the surf is so calm that we'd sit on the lounge chairs while Noah played in the ocean with friends he made! (I'd never allow him alone in the Atlantic Ocean!) I drank more rum runners than I care to admit, and it was a hard adjustment to come home and not have someone clean our place twice a day and keep my rum runner cup full. HA! We did some snorkeling - a stingray swam up to the beach one day, so that was cool to see. We went to Iguana Island, the boys loved seeing the big rock iguanas there. Mostly though it was a lot of beach and pool time, eating, seeing a few of their shows. Usually I am ready to come home from vacation, but even after 10 days, if I could have, I'd have stayed forever.
I have some pictures with me today, so I'll post a few in a little while.
So glad you guys had a nice relaxing time.
That water really is amazing in color. Girl you are making me want to go back. So happy you enjoyed yourself.
Now back to reality!! :P Gotta play the powerball! Then buy a place there.
Sarah - we really liked the resort. The Italian Village where we stayed is beautiful! We loved the pool there so much, that we never even ventured to any of the other pools. The room was so nice and they kept everything very clean. The food was good - I thought there was a wide variety. We ate in almost all of the restaurants (a few are adults only, so we didn't eat there). They really know how to keep the kids busy and entertained. I don't feel as though the drinks were weaker than usual (I had heard that some all inclusives make the drinks weak) - the day I hung at the pool bar while Noah played with his friend...I definitely felt the rum runners when I got up to get out of the pool.
Anything that we wanted we were given - although we're not particularly needy or demanding, so for us it was great.
The few weeks before we arrived there was a stomach virus breakout at the resort. They ended up closing and the day we checked in was the first day that they allowed people back. So the first 3 or 4 days, there were only about 200-300 people (compared with 2200 they usually have!). We did get spoiled a bit those days because we had the beach to ourselves a lot of the time, and we'd be the only people in a restaurant! But, I think they did a good job of trying to keep things clean and stop the spreading of the virus. The cleaned all of the time, they served you at the buffet (instead of letting everyone touch it with their dirty hands). People still were getting sick - we met someone in the airport that her son caught it.
We did notice a slight drop in service when the other 2000 people checked in, but I think that might have been because we were spoiled those first few days.
