Advice for making a move easier on my pet
Does anyone have any advice for making a move easier on my 2 year old pup? He is not used to change and gets nervous when anywhere new. We plan to have all of his toys, his bed, and some other typical household items present when we make the big move. Thanks!
Re: Advice for making a move easier on my pet
Keep as many familiar things around him as possible. Have all his toys and bed ready before you bring him into the house. If it's possible, I would keep him at my parents or friends house until we had most of the things moved in. Our dog gets stressed when he sees us moving stuff around, and it just works better if he doesn't see that and we introduce him when it's semi set up. Walk him through the rooms with you or let him investigate on his own if that's what he's comfortable with. Our dog gets stressed, but as long as we're with him and he has familiar things, he adjusts rather quickly. Good luck!
