Hi, this is my first time visiting the gardening forum and I'm too embarassed to ask anybody IRL this question so here it goes:
I live in Central Utah. Very dry hot weather here. We are the one house on the block that has a brown lawn. We just didn't want to spend a ton of money watering our lawn this summer as I had stopped working and lost that income. I realize this was probably not the best decision to not water our lawn but I can't change that.
My question is, is our grass dead? Or is it just dormant. I don't want to spend tons of money watering a lawn now if its not going to turn green again. The only part of our lawn that is green is where the weeds are. I'm not sure if that means anything or not. The biggest reason I'm wondering about all of this is because we might be putting our house up for sale next May and obviously will need to have a decent looking yard atleast.
I realize this might not be the best place to post this question but after googling my question for an answer I have yet to get a definite answer. There is no money in our budget to hire a landscaper or anything like that so it will be up to us to do the yard work. TIA I appreciate any and all input
Re: watering straw like grass ?
Your local master gardeners can be very helpful with this kind of issue. They even have a gardening helpline so you can talk to someone.
