Did they get anything done on your house yet? We moved in on Monday and it feels soooooooo good to be here. I've never moved into such a clean house before, haha. Now we just have to get this grass growing.
Re: MandyMiller
Hey! Yes, they're finally making some progress. It is framed and they got it under roof as planned on Tuesday (the day before the freaking hail storm)! The HVAC was supposed to go in on Tues. as well, but it didn't so they have a double crew on it today. Pre-drywall meeting should be next week. We've been TRYING to lock our rate since yesterday but stupid NVR hasn't called us back.
We walked through it by ourselves on Weds. a.m. and it is so surreal. It's great to finally see the size of the fam room b/c we've never been in an Oakmont w/out the 4 ft extension. Question: did you have cracked pieces of wood in your framing? We have a lot. Also, we have two windows that are broken already -- any clue why that would happen? I'm sure they'll be replaced, but I hope they aren't cheap windows.
Oh, I also drove out to Fayette Farms earlier in the week to see the house w/ the Lacava brick. It's very different from what I expected, but I think I like it. I'll try to post a pic beside the pic of the sample to see what you think.
I know -- it's going to be so weird moving into a place that's clean! Did you have to do any cleaning at all? Did you hire movers?
Here's the brick on that house and the sample (w the colors we chose). Like yours, there's not as much contrast between the light and dark as we expected -- it just looks like all light brown brick.
And here she is all framed and wraped:
Hey, it looks good! I'm glad to see they are finally moving along. You couldn't pay me enough to be standing on that roof today!
Yes, dh said he did notice some cracked pieces, although I'm not sure what they do about it. We had 2 broken windows. Or pm said that's very common, something about all the hammering and movement in the house while they are building. They did not fix them until right before closing though, so you might have to look at them for awhile.
