Does anyone make pickles......can't get water to boil
I had this problem last year........the pot is so large and there is so much water in the pot, I can;t get it to boil. I have a gas stove and I had the pot and wate ron the stove for 2 hours, on high, and no boil yet. Ugh.

Kate's Recipe Box || Relatively Bookish
I put a small amount of water in my canning pot and put it on my turkey fryer burner (its lower to the ground and easier for me to work with. Then I take all my smaller stock pots and fill them about half way on my stove, as each one comes to a nice boil I pour it into my canning pot, The water is all at boiling temp when it goes in so it boils faster (changing pots I do lose some temp). But using the smaller pots gets it all to a boil faster.
