Are these shoes okay? (Not spam, I promise!)
I posted quite awhile back about my efforts to improve my style; one issue was the black flats that I was wearing. Here's the old thread, which includes a pic of the old shoes, but the summary was that they were childish and I could do better. (They had a big bow on them...)

I'm thinking about ordering these; are they okay? Thanks!

ETA: I realized that the subject line sounded like those spammers we get on here and on the bump boards who have subjects like, "This shirt -- it is okay for work?" so I edited it.

Re: Are these shoes okay? (Not spam, I promise!)
First: there's nothing wrong with them, not my style, but don't second guess since you already ordered. I'm not trying to bag them! But since you asked...Rocket Dog is more of a teenager brand, IMO.
Also, silk isn't really a great fabric choice for shoes. It doesn't wear well. There's too much hidden water in your life--dripping hands after washing them or doing dishes, accidental puddles, foot sweat.
And if you keep them after they start showing signs of wear, they look gross and immature. It sounds like you're looking for something more sophisticated, so leather would be a logical choice. I always say fit and condition is a better indicator of style than the actual design.
I do like the second pair you posted!
Just wanted to say thanks -- this was extremely helpful. You make a really good point about the shoes being fabric and that they would show wear pretty quickly. As someone who isn't big into buying shoes regularly, I think that is something I should avoid. They haven't arrived yet, but I think I might return the first pair. thanks again!
PS Yesterday I shined a pair of my leather shoes b/c of your comment about "fit and condition." I had really neglected the task recently.
