Kitchen Sink Advice

Hello All, We are remodeling and adding an addition to our home. We will be adding a kitchen island that will be about 7 feet wide. It will house the kitchen sink and dishwasher. It will have granite countertops and a fully under mount sink. I am thinking of putting in a 1 basin 2 foot sink in instead of a traditional 2 basin sink? Thoughts? Anyone have this and could offer likes or dislikes? If you were buying a house would his be a deal breaker?

Re: Kitchen Sink Advice

  • We had a 1 basin sink in our old kitchen and I loved it. I do not think this would be a deal breaker. Actually, I think people are beginnig to prefer 1-basin options, as they are easier to clean larger pots/skillets in and look a bit more modern (unless it's a farmhouse style, which is typically pretty classic). I say go for it:)
  • ILs have one. They love it. MIL's SIL saw it and got one too. Loves it. When DH and I redo our kitchen, we will be doing a large one basin sink.

They prevent water from getting everywhere while washing big items. Also, I've used them to bathe both my children when they were babies at my MILs house. Easy!
