has anyone used legalzoom.com?

has anyone used legalzoom.com? For a divorce? or other things

Does it work? Is it legit?

Re: has anyone used legalzoom.com?

  • My brother considered that site for creating a basic will and power of attorney and ultimately opted for uslegalforms.com instead.  I didn't know online options for a divorce were available, but for something like that where there could potentially be many complications, I would only feel comfortable proceeding with the counsel of an attorney.

I'd pay the money for an attorney.  A standard will is a couple/few hundred bucks.  Everybody's estate is slightly different and will have different requirements; you don't want the will challenged or invalidated due to an error in the document itself.  I did the majority of my divorce but used an attorney to do the final paperwork to make certain there were no errors (it was a multi-state jurisdiction matter with children involved).  I know you can "do it yourself" (I've done several legal matters pro se) but for certain things you shouldn't do it yourself because you want to make certain it's done right.
