Watch colors

Is it a fashion faux pas to wear a white watch year round or is it ok?  I know the rules have kind of changed regarding white clothes, but I'm not sure about jewelry.  Speaking of white clothing, what is the acceptable time frame now-a-days for white pants, etc?  Thanks!

Re: Watch colors

  • Watch: I'd wear it whenever I wanted.

White Clothing: It used to be that you would only wear white from Memorial Day through Labor Day. And, I have no idea why that was the case, but I think that "rule" has gone away. But if you prefer to stick to it, that's fine too.

I do think that certain fabrics are better at certain times of the year like linen in summer and cashmere in fall/winter. It's common sense though since linen would be quite cold in winter and you wouldn't wear a cashmere sweater in summer...or you could and just be really hot...

As a point of interest, here is a good article from TIME on the topic. The historical theory is mid-way down the article.
