What curtains would you pair with a black leather couch?
Our living room is white with a big three-panel, paned window facing the street. Due to the layout of the house, the only place to put our black leather couch was in front of this window, which unfortunately blocks a bit of the light.
Still the window lets in a lot of sunlight, not to mention the fact that the neighbors can easily see exactly what we're doing. So we really need to put up some curtains. I've been thinking white sheers with lined drapes on the sides, but I don't know what color the drapes should be. And should they be solid or patterned? Would love to know your ideas!
Re: What curtains would you pair with a black leather couch?
I'd go patterned. Also, since you have all white and then the big black sofa, I'd go with color. What is your decor style?

I am a little bit on the wild side, but I would go with a curtain with a fun print in a bright color like a lime-y green...

^^I am actually trying to talk DH into using this fabric for his man room curtains.
This is pretty too -

You can essentially do whatever you want, just stay away from really dark colors and heavy prints.
Thanks for the ideas! Keep them coming.
DH and I both like a modern style and use mostly neutrals. (If it were completely up to me, I'd make everything, including the couch, white.) I've been playing with the idea of more color in this room, though. I like the graphic and Moroccan prints that are trendy right now, but I psych myself out sometimes thinking that they are too trendy and will look dated in a year or two. Maybe I'm overthinking ...
I think you have to go with a print that has a bit of color to balance out the black couch. I love neutrals and think there is nothing wrong with doing lots of whites and tans but I don't think you can do that with a black couch.
