Mystic CT

Hi girls,

We are headed to Mystic CT in August and wonder if anyone has been there.  DH and I know it will be more for us than Sienna but I know the Aquarium will be fun for her.  Any advice or reccomendations.  TIA!

Re: Mystic CT

  • Visiting from the NY board, but will be a NJ resident shortly. :)

DH and I have been to Mystic, CT a few times (pre-baby) and loved it. It's a cute little town to just walk around and see. You must go to Mystic Pizza. The pizza is delicious and the restaurant is all "Mystic Pizza" (the movie) related. There isn't a ton to do, but the aquarium is very nice and there is also Mystic seaport to see. Have a great time.

  • Thanks so much.  We figure she is still too young to really enjoy Sesame place or Hershey and want a little get away.  WE are going to the shore for day trips but wanted to get away for 2 nights and Mystic seemed great.  Yes, will definitely go to Mystic Pizza!  :)  Congrats on becoming a NJ resident soon.

  • My husband and I have been there a couple of times.  We went last 4th of July weekend in 2010.  Mystic Pizza is a must, drawbridge ice cream, and the aquarium.  The aquarium is actually REALLY cute.  We loved it.

We stood at the Whaler's Inn which was super quaint- I enjoyed it.

    Have a good time! :)

  • I just told DH today that I want to go there!

A co-worker of mine lives near there and when I asked her about it she recommended:

Rocky Neck is nice - (about 20 min drive south, no waves) aquarium (toddlers may be free), Harkness park (just pay for parking), Roger Wms Zoo is just before Providence (about 30 mins north), Dinosaur Park is fun from what I hear - dinosaur stuff and splash pad type water park for little ones (about 20 minutes south)
