I think I saw one of your pics with an award at the Peanut Festival---congrats!
Re: Emmiegirl
thanks! I got an email from someone else telling me I won something too!! I can't wait to go down there this weekend and check it out. I'm trying to be strong and not find out which one or what place so I can be surprised. It's sooooo hard not to say "soooo, which one was it?!" :):)
i want to go so bad.... i don't know if we will make though
ha ha! I am so far from famous!!
You have to go Lauren! You'll feel so bad if you don't go. But then again, you did just get back from DISNEY!!! It will put the poor Peanut Festival to shame!
LOL....never the Peanut Festival....the glimmering beacon of the South that it is.
LOL...I love it! I think that the very last time I went was with Heather and her husband Sam back in 2005....right after I got married. Man...
Do you ride the rides when you go? I hear the carnies are better...like Brandon never trusted them because they would patrol the festival all the time and catch them smoking pot and crap behind their rides....but he has heard from friends who are still officers in Dothan that they are much better...like 100%....so I might be more inclined to ride again!
Yup, I go every year! I ride a couple of rides but nothing too wild these days. Especially since I have Hannah in tow!
Let me know if you guys end up going- maybe we'll see ya out there on Saturday!!
is there anything remotely "daring" there this year? LOL
like that star shaped ride...i loved that thing!!!
The carnies weren't so much carnie like this year...in fact, not at all. You know either last year or the year before that two guys got in a fight and one died. So the festival stopped using that company. Anyway, it all looked so much cleaner this year. But that could be b/c it was during the day and hundreds of people had not yet been out there.
We didn't ride anything this year...with the exception of my Dad taking DS on the carosuel. But of the big kid rides they all looked pretty good. I really like they always bring back the classics like the Himalaya and the Starship.
I remember this fondly my friend! I wish I could go this weekend and go to the parade, but I have to go to Nashville for work.
