My bff is getting married Labor Day weekend. She is currently arguing with he mom (who lives out of state) about flower bouquets. My friend, B, doesn't really want flowers but her mom does. Being a BM I don't really care if there are flowers or not, I would just like something to carry because I don't know what I would do with my arms if I didn't have anything. I'm trying to come up with some ideas that she could take back to her mom as a compromise. All I am coming up with are button bouquets, which I think are super cute. Does anyone have any other ideas. She is wanting to make whatever we do. If we do flowers they will be made the day before my me. In other words, I would love to find an idea that is easy, that she and he mom will like, and that I could get started on sooner rather than later! TIA!
Re: Wedding Bouquet Question
A fan? That might look cheesy.
Feather bouquet?
Single flower? Like a big calle Lilly or dinner plate dahlia...
Here are simple flower bouquet ideas too if you end up needing to make them. Personally, my favorites are the babys breath or lavendar only. Super cheap, and beautiful.
Parasols?
In my googling, someone mentioned wheat. Depending on her theme?
balloons? make sure the strings are long enough that they won't block your face
Sorry, I am having some major fun with this one.
more balloons
lanterns
She is getting married outside at like 5pm. We are wearing red dresses (Alfred Angelo Claret to be exact). I love sunflowers, but the yellow wouldn't really go. I actually like the wheat idea because she is getting married in a field basically.
Here is a picture from the venues website. They are going to be on the top rock:

Maybe a single big white dahlia?
I like the idea of one flower like a dahlia or calla lilly.
I love the idea of wheat or lavender bouquets. Some of my sorority sisters have done this for their weddings and we used wheat for centerpieces with deep red roses at events. It looks incredible. Wheat actually holds some symbolism that works beautifully for weddings.
The balloons certainly look like fun, but I don't know if I would have the guts to try that particular idea.

A girl on ML made a broach bouquet. Each piece had significance to them. Let me see if I can find the OP...

What are you looking at?
I looked into dahlias but it was iffy on how big all the dinner plates would be on the wedding day.
I love vintage looking clutches or curly little purses if no flowers!
I did all of my flowers though and it wasn't bad at all! I'm so glad I didn't pay for a florist!
I like the idea of one long stemmed flower... like a lily. You could just order them single and then tie a ribbon around them the night before.
I'm not a fan anymore of big flower bunches.. I find that they hide the beautiful dresses but I understand the whole "do something with your hands" thing. I like the baby's breath idea, too. White flowers are stunning against the red dresses and some sort of red pops against the white wedding dress (those were my colors too). Maybe a single long stemmed red rose for each of the girls.
We did peacock feathers for centerpieces. You could do entire bouquets out of them too though.
