Delaying having children because of child care?
We will soon be considering trying to have children but pause because of the lack of knowledge of decent, affordable child care in the suburbs. I work in the city and my husband in Northbrook, (we live in Palatine) we want our children to be well cared for and not have to worry while we are away. I feel lost in even beginning where to look for appropriate child care. Thoughts?

Trust me, that all falls into place. If you want a baby, don't delay it. You aren't guaranteed a certain time line.
It's about what you want. There are plenty of great places that have big names...KinderCare, Bobbi Noonan, etc. There are also websites that do background checks~sittercity or care . com. (If you want someone to come to you.) Facebook even has sites for childcare. There are a lot of moms that do in-home daycare. Just ask around or post something at your church. There are lots of options. It's a matter of what you want for your child. Best wishes.
Honestly this just wasn't a consideration of mine. I figured that we would find a way to cut back in some areas to make it happen. I just felt that the longer I waited, the higher the odds were of a child with special needs and that scared me.
And we did make it work! I even stay at home with my girls currently! They are going back to childcare soon after I took a year off bc I want to go back to work. But we are proof it can be done.
