Curly Hair

What products do you like to help with frizzy~!  Any tips are appreciated!

Re: Curly Hair

  • I don't have very curly hair, my hair it's more wavey, with great potential to be poofy. I really like Bumble and Bumble Curl Concious shampoo and conditioner, my hair is very smooth afterwards and the waves are more defined. For taming the frizzy on humid days, I like Morrocan Oil styling products.

  • I have wavy hair that is on the frizzy side and I really like the Deva Curl products.  Dry hair with a t-shirt (not a towel) and then I use the Arc Angel gel and Set it Free spray.  It smells good and definitley tames the frizz for me!  HTH!
  • I have super curly hair.  I'm Puerto Rican so it's really thick and curly. It took me forever to find a product to help me tame these wild tresses.  You should look into the Sammy line. Here's the website http://www.samysalon.com/index?p= I swear by these products.  I found them and I'm never going back to anything else.

  • I second Deva Curl.  I also really like the Living Proof no frizz line.  Right now, I'm using Wen (which I love, but it's not for everyone) but I have used Living Proof in the past and LOVED it.  That's what I was using when I got married last year... 90 degree heat... and I had no frizzing.  The no frizz stuff and the humidity blocking hairspray is flipping magic.
  • I've been using LaCoupe orgnx curl enhancing mousse and really like it. It definitely helps with frizz and creates some nice waves in my hair. Smells awesome too.

Is there any curl to it? Try mousse right after the shower, scrunch with your hands, blow dry with a diffuser while spraying hair spray. It'll give you awesome curls that hold. I use Garnier mousse and hair spray (in a can, not a spritz).

This is almost exactly what I was going to say.  Also, the less you touch your curls, the less frizzy they will be.  I used to spray hair spray while I was drying, but stopped doing that and actually like my curls better.  I still spray once they're dry, but not during.  I've been using Garnier mousse as well and really like it.

  • I also found that drying my hair with a t-shirt rather than a towel (and less rubbing, more squeezing) works well.  And also, when I wash my hair... I don't pile everything on the top of my head.  I just lather my scalp, and then rake it through my hair.  Making that change really helped my hair be less frizzy.
  • tons of conditioner, masks, maybe once per week I still use sulphate free shampoo.

i apply a leave in + gel. then I also comb once to detangle (w the huge Ouidad double comb thing) and let it air dry.

also, ditto. I never do the turban towel thing anymore. terry cloth 100% cotton towels give me frizzy hair!

  • I?m using Pro Naturals Moroccan Argan Oil to tackle frizz, my hair is curly and gets really frizzy but the oil tames it and smooths it down. It's oil but it's not actually greasy at all, plus it's a heat protectant too. Working well so far :)
  • I'm a big fan of the Beautiful Curls products (I buy them at Whole Foods).  I use the ones for wavy/curly hair, since I have hair that can occasionally muster up corkscrew curls, but more often than not is wavy and fine overall.  I see much less frizz than I have with a lot of other products, and they're very gentle.
