Fondue

Just got this in the mail. Can't wait to have my fondue party. Any recipe suggestions?

Re: Fondue

  • Chocolate fondue with strawberries, marshmallows, bananas, biscotti, and rice krispies treats for dipping.  H and I go to a bakery that serves this and it's the perfect dessert.

  • Chocolate and peanut butter fondue with strawberries, bananas, rice crispy treats, marshmallows.
  • I just follow the cheese fondue recipe it came with (which is buried right now).  I serve with kielbasa, potatoes, bread, steamed broccoli, cauliflower, and carrots.  DH has high cholesterol and claims I serve him this to kill him off, but it's a fun meal with him and the kids.
  • I have a fondue "pot". It's just a double boiler, not an actual pot like the one you have.

My favorite things to fondue with chocolate: Bananas, strawberries, marshmallows, and rice krispie treats.

  • I grew up eating fondue because of my mother's heritage.  if you're a meat eater, get a nice cut of beef and cube it up.  chicken can be  used, too.  rub the inside of the pot with a garlic clove, and heat up peanut oil (I know, not very healthy, but a ton of chocolate, as mentioned above, isnt either!) you  cant just  dip the meats, you have to leave them in thereto cook.  hence the color codes on the end of the forks, so you    know  which one is  yours.  I marinate my meat in a bit of soy sauce and other spices for a little while before the fondue dinner.
