Selecting an OBGYN
I have been going to Squirrel Hill Health Center for my regular doctor and my OBGYN. I'm looking to switch, especially my OB, because although SHHC is really convenient to work, I don't think I'll work at my current job after having a kid.
I know a lot of people recommend the OBs connected with UPMC. Has anybody delivered at West Penn Hospital? Would you recommend going there? What OB did you use? And, if I want to use the Midwives at Magee, is there an OB you would recommend?

i believe that both bubs & chrissyrmu (GPM) have ob's connected with west penn.
i was with krupski's office at magee. i really liked them, but also felt like they were quick to shrug off certain issues/concerns and that bothered me. i have a friend that is currently with them and they seem to be consistently shrugging off her biggest concern and focusing on an issue that is not an issue at the moment (with her not TTC). but no matter how many times she tells them that they remain focused on the issue.

I go to West Penn Ob/Gyn. There are six doctors in the practice. I only have great things to say about all of them. Dr. Sword delivered my DS last summer at West Penn. He was really great. We had a good experience at West Penn and I'll be returning there in a few months. I don't think they have an office at West Penn Hospital but there are different locations around Pittsburgh.
I go to this practice too and have liked it so far this pregnancy. I was with a different practice and delivered at Mercy with my son, so I can't comment on the hospital part of things yet but I have heard good things.

I also go to West Penn OBGYN. Can't say enough good things about them. Dr. McNulty delivered DS and was awesome. Had me laughing while I was pushing, if you can believe that. I will be delivering DS2 in a few weeks again at West Penn and already put together a gift basket of candy for the nursing staff to take with me because they were so awesome last time.
