what is going on?

This board is so dead. Let's play catch up.  What is going on with everybody?

Re: what is going on?

  • Same old stuff here.  The extreme heat the last few weeks really did not agree with me well.  Once I hit 30, I can no longer take it!   Saturday night I will be at the Roger Waters concert.  Should be interesting.

I would really love to get to the shore for a day trip or two.  We went to Maryland at the beginning of June, and it was still cool outside! My one boss is out on medical leave, so it is hard for me to take time off right now and DH is off random days during the week.

  • Also would love to hear from some of our old regulars who have been MIA for a while.

  • I just got back from a vacation down the shore. Work has been busy and the mister and I have been doing work on the house or running races most weekends since May. It was nice to have a break.

I'm excitedly awaiting one of my good friends to have her first baby in the next few weeks (she's due at the end of this month). We are busy this weekend, but I'm hoping to have a few quiet weekends after this one.

  • I've been super busy at work.  Besides that, we've just been enjoying Jack and watching him change every day.  I can't believe he's 7 months old already.

We'll have our first trip to the beach in a couple weeks - just a day trip to Ocean City.

Vacation this year is 11 days in Umbria, Italy in September.  I can't wait.

  • We are also going to the Rogers Waters concert on Saturday.  We saw the show twice when he was in town a year and a half ago and it was awesome.  I'm curious to see what it's going to be like in an outdoor setting.

  • I actually saw something on 60 Minutes a month or so ago.  It is more of a "show" than a "concert" if I am not mistaken?

  • Things are pretty boring these days, but in a good way!  Vinnie is getting bigger and more adorable with each day.  He's 9 freaking months old already!  He makes me laugh like no other.  He's crawling all over and cutting teeth like it's his job.  We're beginning the preparations for his first birthday party, which is sure to be a spectacle.  I'm trying to squeeze in a family/1st birthday session with our wedding photog who just started her own company.

We're not doing any vacations as a family this year.  Well, we did a weekend in OCNJ last weekend.  But I'm most (selfishly) looking forward to a girls weekend down the shore in August with my 5 closest gfs.

I'm currently looking for a new job.  I've been a contract employee for over a year now and I've made several attempts at becoming permanent with no success.  I think it's time to cut my losses.  I'm just hoping I can get a reasonable commute.  Hoping that if I can get a new, stable job, we can finally get moving on buying a house!

  • Not much going on here. The Dude and I are trying to finish our front porch. The floor finally went down and we painted it. Now we just need to buy new lattice for underneath and railings. Then the masonry can do his thing and we'll be done :) We're probably going to wait for late August/early September to buy furniture for it in hopes it'll be on sale.

I'm not going to Roger Waters but I'll get my JenD's baby time in while she goes ;)

We're going to Rehoboth at the end of August and I can't freakin wait. I have off for two weeks and it'll be glorious.

SIL and her son finally moved out of our house so that's freakin awesome.

Other than that...it's been interesting in our house but it's all good.

Yes, it's definitely more of a show.  The "wall" gets built up and then broken back down again through the concert and they use the wall as the background for some awesome imagery.  It's so cool.

Mr.D is the huge Pink Floyd fan and I was always kind of meh about them but after seeing the show, I understand the music better and can appreciate it now.

  • Nothing has changed and by that I mean that everything that was going to change is no longer changing so basically everything is staying the same...confused yet?

DH quit his job, I told my boss I wasn't leaving, I went to visit DH over the 4th, the CEO and the board asked him to reconsider his decision to leave, he had a mini freakout over the fact that he didn't have the next job lined up and took their offer to reconsider.

But I'm not going to move to Ohio because I don't think he'll stay for long and I'm not willing to uproot everything until I'm sure he's confident in the company and his job. So, nothings change and everythings changed at the same time.

  • I'm going to visit my BFF this weekend and we're going shopping, to see Magic Mike, then out for some awesome thai food. Can't wait to have a weekend to "myself" but at the same time, I feel a little guilty leaving DS since I work all week and my weekends are usually all about him.

I'm in my 2nd tri now...still exhausted but not pukey anymore.

We're going to England/Scotland in 2 weeks to visit DH's family. It'll be hard not drinking at the pubs on this trip.

  • I turn 30 in T-18 days. Give me a gun and shoot me.  I'm really not feeling this birthday at all. :(

I was whining about not going anywhere in my other post, but we are going to NYC for a night on Saturday. BIL is playing soccer in some work tournament and flying in from LA, so we are going to watch him and then just hang out.  So we won't have much time to do much of anything, but it will be good to get out of Philly. We're going to hang in the country (at my 'rents) on Friday & Sunday since they are on the way.

  • I'm in a bit of a summer slump. Feeling bored and not really in the mood to do anything, work related or otherwise.

Speaking of work, we've had some restructuring/transition which means my job is going to change somewhat. I'll be able to get rid of some of the things I just don't like doing anymore and take on new responsibilities. I've been pretty over my job recently, so I'm hoping that this change of pace will be a good thing.

I'm going to Rehoboth with my mom and aunt for a long weekend in August, but other than that, I don't have anything too exciting lined up in terms of plans for the rest of the summer.

  • My maternity leaving is FLYING by, and I'm not very happy about it. I go back on August 6th, but I'm trying not to think about it too much.

DS is awesome. He's a really good baby, and is starting to smile a lot more, which is really fun. We've been getting out of the house a fair amount, which isn't too tough because he sleeps like a champ in the car and the stroller.

Picture from today, for those who aren't friends with me on FB:

We're heading down to OCNJ on Saturday for a week with my family. My parents rented a house on the beach, so it's a free vacay with built-in babysitters, and I can't freaking wait! It will be nice for DH to have a full week to spend with us (read: the baby) since he usually just gets a couple of hours in the evening after work.

  • I'm in a bit of a summer slump myself- work is super stressful, and the pulling 6 days a week working schedule is just not doing me any good.  Luckily, I do have this Saturday off so we can attend MS Family Day at the PTM.

DH has been working, including traveling, a ton these past few weeks, and will continue that schedule for the next few as well.  It's been extremely difficult and stressful to balance Aisling, my work schedule, and trying to make arrangements for people to watch her while I work since she really can't be with me during the summer here.  I know people do this all the time, but I'm just feeling so overwhelmed and worn out.

We are slooooowly working on getting Aisling's big girl room ready...I'm extremely nervous it won't be done in time, and I really want to give her time to transition before this baby gets here.  But I am at the mercy of DH's schedule and how tired he is after getting in from traveling/coaching/whatever else.

I'm 29 weeks preggo today, and had a check-up.  Baby is measuring right on track, heartbeat is great, and I've been cleared to discontinue the frequent ultrasounds (yay!)

Aisling will be 2 in less than a month.  I am trying to work on her birthday party planning, but it seems nobody in our family or friends understands what an RSVP is, which is making things a little difficult to plan.

Other than that, counting down til August 13 so I can hopefully just relax and be down the shore to enjoy some calm and quality time with DH and Aisling.

Wow- this "update" is long and kind of whiny.  Sorry about that!
