Kitten is constantly biting

Our kitten is about months old and he is constantly attacking my legs (like full spread legs, jump and latch onto my shin or thigh, claws extended, teeth sinking in) or biting my wrists or top of my feet... and it's only me! I don't understand why, he doesn't do it to FI or DD, just me and I'm his "person" he follows me everywhere, sleeps with me and cuddles with me. Any suggestions or advice on how to get him to stop?

Re: Kitten is constantly biting

  • Your kitten is going what cats do and thats play and hunt. He is taking it out on you because he probably needs more play time and stimulation. He has all this energy and doesn't know what to do with it, so play with him until he is exhausted and wants to sleep. Also, make sure he has plenty of toys to play with. He just wants attention and has pent up energy.

    Good luck!

I am a big fan of kittens in pairs.

OP, what is your response to your kitten when she bites? L was horrible as a kitten, and what really worked for us was ignoring her.  If she bit or swatted at us, we literally turned our backs on her and left the room.  It took some time and consistency, but she learned that biting = no attention.
