Is it me or is there a 3 yr hump? My husband and I have been so passionately in love, best friends etc. up until the last couple of months. We have accomplished so much in the last three yrs. We bought a home a yr ago, had a baby, now having another one but recently we can't seem to stand each other. He claims I am always negative- (just because I told him painting the garage is a waste of money and because we can't by the car he wants. We simply don't fit in the car he wants but whatever Im negative)- I've been feeling resentful and thinking all the sacrafices I've made to make him happy haven't been worth it.
Re: 3 yr hump or what?
Get a divorce
What doyou mean you don't fit in the car? What are you -- Maxime and Hagrid?
Hehe. Maybe he's looking at some kind of 2-seater sports car that won't fit a car seat for their baby.
How much money does it cost to paint a garage? $50? So what? Why would you kabash that? Sometimes, people just need things to make them happy. If what will make him happy, and you can afford it- is to have a certain kind of car, who cares?
I figured out a while ago that TELLING my husband that something won't work is worse than letting him figure it out on his own. So, if he says "I want to buy a Porsche" I say, "That's great. Should be fun." he knows our finances well enough to know that we can't afford one, so he won't. But being supportive instead of dismissing it out of hand, makes him focus on the financial aspect, rather than saying "Well Snippy won't LET me get a Porsche". No one likes to be told what to do.
Wedding stuff.
Between this post and the name changing post it seems you guys are slacking on communication. And there is tons of resentment. And I gotta agree with the other ladies. That is until you fill us in more. You can't buy the car because you can't afford it or you can't because you don't want him to because you all won't fit? If you have a spacious vehicle and he just wants another car to have and you can afford it then let the man have his car. And the garage thing? Keeping up with house things...that includes a garage...is a necessity.
It's no fun having rough patches in a marriage but we all go through them. Different people have hard times in their marriages at different points
I don't get the car part and I don't get the garage.
I too think it is a communication issue.
And the only car you'd be too big for is that rinky dinky thing that looks like half an egg; I forget what they call it.:)
Are you thinking of The Smart Car? Scion has one now that is just as tiny called the iQ.
