Anyone dyed fabric in front load h/e washer?
Our outdoor cushions are very faded and I want to re-dye them back to their red color but am afraid to do this in a front load washer. I read the instructions but am still afraid. Has anyone tried this with success?
Re: Anyone dyed fabric in front load h/e washer?
I don't know if it would work. Our front load H/E washer never has all the clothes completely immersed in water. I would think that your cushions might become streaky. (If that's a look you're o.k. with, then why not?)
I use a huge plastic tub, an old broom stick and do it outside. I just got done doing 3 of our show tractor umbrellas in that scarlet color. (THAT was a horrible blood-red color). Kids were giving telling me that I looked like a witch stirring my cauldron.
We have soft water to an outside faucet, Hot too, (in same valve, so its hard to get temp just right, but I'm not complaining!) Now, it wasn't piped it just for this project, it works great for washing vehicles, filling the camper tank, etc.
Good luck!
