In all seriousness, I don't know. Would a federal law okaying gay marriage do it?
(Not that I see that happening anytime soon either but...)

Oh, I know the answer to this (but only because I was curious and asked this exact question to my Con Law professor a couple years ago). ?The federal law would rule until the case came before the Supreme Court. ?He also said that in such an instance, with federal law and state constitutions being clearly at odds, it would come before the SCOTUS rather quickly.
