Schools

Hi,

It looks like we might be relocating to the Denver area and my daughter will have to start kindergarten this year.  Any recommendations on good schools (reputation wise or personal experience)?  Both private and public?

Thanks!

Re: Schools

  • Cherry Creek and Douglas County both have good reputations overall.  School quality can vary a bit within those but I know in Douglas County you can choice into other schools in the district.  Private I don't know about but have heard good things about some of the Catholic schools like St. Thomas More, Regis and Most Precious Blood.

ETA:  Oh and welcome.  BTW, board is a bit slower as a lot of the gals have moved to proboards (conasties).

  • Thanks!  I decided to post on the new board too.
  • I would move to an area where you will be in the cherry creek school district. There are still good Douglas county schools too, but the district as a whole has a lot of problems and they are quickly losing good teachers. Most cherry creek schools are phenomenal, and I believe you can also choice into cc schools (at the one I work at, 1/3 of the kids choice into the school because it has such a good reputation). I don't know anything about the school districts on the north side of town. Good luck!
