Furniture salesman is coming to help 2morrow-help me narrowit down?

Te owner of this company offered to come over and tell me what will work best in our house (he also gave me the dealer codes so I can see the suppliers proce lost and said he will give it to me for at least 16% off plus free shipping- he is insanely great yelp reviews so we shall see but I have my fingers crossed).

I want to do a sort of vintage mixed with contemporary thing. I'm thiking a nice hefty wood table with some visual or textural intrest with a contemporary chandelier and other decor items mixed with more classic furniture items. Let me know if I am "doing it wrong" :). I need table, chairs, sideboard, and a kitchen island which will probably need it's own post.

Go to urban and check out the tables named - Malaga, Dijon, Jonas, Cambridge. It is possible that one of them might be under Nantucket. For chairs I tagged Lana, Francis, and Provence. I'm thinking it might be fun to mix and match because... Some of those chairs are so damn expensive I can't see myself buying six of them- but maybe two pricey ones which can also get used in the living room then be brought to the table for guests or whatever. Also I am concerned about these lovely upholstered chairs being used by a 4 yr old and a 1 year old, kwim? Or even moe of an eclectic mix.

Sideboards- Arabella (also the name of the daughter we never conceived), deaden and portobello I'm not totally sure about.

. Anything is going to look better than what we have going on in there right now.

. What do you think? It is all solid wood made from claimed barn doors and what not. I really like the grey washed finish that some of them have.

I like the shape of this rectangular chandelier http://www.westelm.com/products/large-rectangle-hanging-capiz-pendant-white-w696/?pkey=e|modern+capiz+chandelier|51|best|0|1|24||2&cm_src=PRODUCTSEARCH||NoFacet-_-NoFacet-_-Summer%202012%20D1%2B2%20Billboards-_-

it isn't exactly what I had imagined but it is the only thing in my price range that I have come up with. Anyhow I'm thinking it could be cool for over the table. Tough I think maybe something even a bit more modern but in that shape and ve the capiz for my bedroom. Thank you for your help.

  • Just so you know, long posts with inactive links and no PIPs generally don't get any responses.  Lucky for you, I'm procrastinating :)

The other names aren't right - nothing came up in the search.

Do you have a cohesive plan before you spend thousands?  I'd reschedule the salesman until you have a defined plan.  My favorite tables are 2 and 4 (1 is too Spanish for me, 3 is NMS).  I think chairs 1 and 3 are too formal for those tables, so I'd go for 2.  I don't know about that chandelier with the other elements, but it could work.
