Red eye?

So I have a question not sure if anyone can answer it or not. Yesterday while at home my husband was playing with our 8 yr old pit Belle. He noticed that the corner of her right eye was red (the white part of the eye). It didn't really seem to bother her but this morning it was still really red and now she's tearing up a lot in that eye. I think it might hurt to because she puts that side of her face in your hands. Does anyone know what it is? Or what could have caused it? We also have a 7month old lab mix puppy but her eyes seem to be fine. Of course I'm keeping a close eye on it and I'm going to be calling the vet if it doesn't look any better tomorrow.

Could be a number of things. Chances are she probably scratched her cornea playing around some how. It's irritated so she keeps rubbing it which only makes it hurt more. The other possibility is that she has some form of mild allergies that is making her eyes itch. Not uncommon for dogs to have tree/grass/indoor allergies so they might be flaring up now. Either way I would suggest a trip to the vet to get some eye drops to help relief any pain of itchiness she might be experiencing.
