Freezing grilled chicken?

I'm trying to eat healthier and frozen foods in the freezer seem to help me keep on track, however I'm trying to get away from tyson's grilled chicken breasts you can pop in the microwave because of the sodium, etc.

So I bought a bunch of chicken and I'm marinating it right now... I want to grill it up and freeze it so I can grab it and microwave it when I need it, but I'm not sure the best way to do it?

It's already cut up into the right proportions, do I need to wrap each one individually?  Do I just put them in a freezer bag and push out the air?  I made enough to last 2-3 weeks tops, so it won't be for months and months.  Help!

Re: Freezing grilled chicken?

  • I haven't had much luck freezing cooked chicken, I always felt it came out a little...weird?

I would definitely stick them in a bag and squish out all the air if you're going to go the freezer route.

I have found that if you grill enough chicken for a week it will last in the refrigerator fine.
