I'm seriously needing to post something snarky on facbook right now

And I came up with this:

(BlackMamba) is wondering when her state plans to change its name to Jesus Christ of Latter Day California.

Ive already posted it, but if you were my Mormon friends what would you think?  I don't hate all Mormons right now, just a decent portion of them.  My head is not in the right place right now, so if you think it's something I'll regret saying I'll take it down.

  • I'd hope your Mormon friends agree with you. ?

And it is kind of funny...

However, I'm really guilty of posting messages that are inflammatory and get me into trouble, so maybe you shouldn't take advice from me.?

  • Well, if they are Mormon, then they should think it's a compliment to be called Mormon, right?
  • I know where you are coming from. I have resisted changing my status to Floridians are intollerant, hateful buffoons. But I am SO tempted.

  • you aren't being derogatory to Mormons there.

  • Hmm... I'm trying to put myself in their shoes.  If it had been my church and you said Presbyterian California (obviously not as punny), I'd probably have mixed feelings.  You see, I agree with you in your frustration against Prop 8.  I'm personally baffled and would be upset with my church had its members been the ones funding the fight for it, but I'd also be a little embarassed.  I don't think I'd be hurt by the facebook status of a friend, though.  As long as your mormon friends know you and realize that you're rational and don't judge them unfairly for their beliefs, I think you're fine.
  • I have to say they will probably have mixed emotions. If they are your friends they will understand but that doesn't mean they might not privately feel some hurt.

Maybe a more generic snarky post would be better so as not to single out one particular group?

  • If you need to know what real mormon put downs look like just ask me!

    Wink
